Water needs and irrigation solutions for the agricultural sector

This session will take stock of the current situation and local needs with regards to water supply for the agricultural sector, and highlight innovative irrigation solutions. 
Mr Théchel Ekoungoulou, Project Manager at FAO Congo, will highlight the findings of a recent study on the valorisation of water supply in Congo. Ms. Aminata Sow of the African Development Bank and Ms. Irene Mboukou Kimbantsa (Advisor of the President, in charge of agriculture and rural development) will comment on this. The session will be moderated by Ivo Demmers, Director Food Security and Valuing Water Program at Wageningen University & Research. International companies, organisations and other water experts in the audience are welcomed to offer ideas and solutions to respond to the local needs.
