Frank Nagel is a Dutch citizen who graduated from Erasmus University in Rotterdam in Business Economics in 1989.
After serving the army Frank started at Rabobank in 1991 as a management trainee and worked in various positions before joining Rabo International Advisory Services (RIAS) BV, a dedicated consultancy company leveraging on Rabobank’s knowledge and experience in banking, agriculture and cooperatives. Here he has been responsible for strategic advisory and capacity building at financial institutions and food & agri companies operating in emerging markets and developing countries. In 2018 RIAS merged into Rabo Partnerships, strongly linking the advisory capacities to Rabobank’s equity investments in emerging markets while becoming a key part of Rabobank’s global Banking for Food strategy. Mr Nagel now serves as a director at Rabo Partnerships focusing on building networks & alliances with external organizations such as UN Environment.
His main field of expertise is on rural and retail banking, focusing on agrifinance and efficient distribution systems contributing to financial inclusion and food security. Through his career at Rabobank, Mr. Nagel has worked mostly in the area of international banking services, among others to the support of Dutch SMEs overseas.
In addition to his role at Rabobank, Frank is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Netherlands-African Business Council, the leading trade and investment facilitator for Africa in The Netherlands.
