Dr Riad Balaghi, is an expert climate risk management in agriculture, climate change and development of climate-resilient projects.
He is an agricultural engineer, graduated with a diploma of Advanced Studies and a doctorate in Environmental Sciences from the University of Liège in Belgium. He worked as a scientist and as an international consultant in various climate risk management, agricultural development and climate change projects in Africa, Asia and Europe.
He published numerous scientific papers, related to climate risk management, crop forecasting and climate change. He received the FAO Medal of Merit in 2009 for his numerous works on climate change. He was a member of the scientific committee of COP22, and he is affiliated with numerous non-profit associations.
Dr Riad Balaghi is currently Director of Projects at The AAA Initiative Foundation, which promotes the adaptation of African Agriculture to climate change.
